According to Suzanne Dodge, two deeds, both dated October 31, 1850 and recorded January 11, 1851, for one dollar:

"To Catherine Smith, wife of David Smith and Cordelia Rassleya, wife of Richard R. Rassleya, 58 acres situated in Muskingum County, being a part of the first quarter of the second township and seventh range of United States Military Land". "T o Thomas Ring, 106 acres also in Muskingum County, first quarter of the second township and seventh range of United States Military Land".

According to Suzanne Dodge: James A. Harmison to William Reed for $300,00, April 7, 1846, for three acres.

3. George Wesley Harmison was born on 31 Oct 1848 in Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio; died on 25 Feb 1913 in Urbana, Champaign, Illinois; was buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Urbana, Illinois.
4. Margaret Jane Harmison was born on 15 Sep 1850 in Brownsville, Licking, Ohio; died on 2 Jul 1859 in Bloomington, Mclean, Illinois.
5. William Harvey Harmison was born on 28 Dec 1853 in McClean, Illinois; died on 24 Nov 1874 in Urbana, Champaign, Illinois.
6. Ella M. Harmison was born on 19 Aug 1858 in McClean, Illinois.

According to Eva Harmison, Matthew had 7 children, four sons and three daughters, then disappeared and the children became orphans.

In Frederick County Land Grants, Book 2, Thomas Lord Fairfax, Baron of Cameron, to Thomas Harmison of Frederick County, Virginia, on October 10, 1766, 247 acre tract of land on the headspring of Ambrose's Run below Sleepy Creek near Potomac Rive r (in present Morgan County, WVA).

Rent rolls for Berkeley County, Virginia, 1774-1781 show Thomas Harmison with 247 acres (From Reconstructed Census, Berkeley County, Va. 1774-1810 by Grove).

In Berkeley County Unrecorded Deeds, Book 1, page 411, deed dated November 22, 1790, Thomas Harmison, farmer, of Berkeley County, to his children: William Harmison, to receive all lands and possessions except 30 pounds; Nancy Randels, to receiv e 5 pounds; Jean Weathers, to receive 5 pounds; and Martha Harmison to receive 20 pounds. Proved October 15, 1793.

Tax list for Berkeley County in 1787 lists white males over 21 years; James Harmison, Thomas Harmison, Adam Harmison (Thomas was charged the tax for Adam), Mathew Harmison (who also had one male 16-21 years in his household).

1792, name disappeared from tax record but he was found 1794 on receipt from William, deed record 1794.
