    James Joseph Harmison was a farmer, carpenter and beekeeper. Informatin on James Joseph and his wife, Carrie "Lizzie" Elizabeth Borden was provided to the LDS Church by their grandson, Richard Rucker Fullmer; 871 23 Street, Ogden, Weber, Utah , 84401 and great great granddaughter, Eva Lue Burrow Hassell; 128 South 300 West, Provo, Utah, 84601.     Notes:

    The property owned by Samuel at the time of his death was located along McKillup Creek, White County, Indiana and was sold to a William Sill by Samuel's son, John, executor of his estate, following Samuel's death.

    Samuel is most probably buried at the Bedford Cemetery which is located near his former property in Monon Township, White, Indiana.

    Samuel Harmison opened a blacksmith shop in Door Village, southwest of LaPorte, Indiana in Scipio township in 1833 according to "LaPorte History" by McDonald.

    Samuel Harmison, Sr. and wife, Nancy Arnold, were both illiterate and signed documents with an "X".

    Served in the War of 1812.

    Helped build the stockade in Door Village, LaPorte, Indiana, 1832 during Blackhawk War scare.

    Voted in LaPorte, Indiana, 1832.



    Will probated February 14, 1842, White, Indiana.
