    • REVOLUTIONARY WAR: MILITARY: Served in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted at age 16, and participated in the battles of Brandywine & Germantown. He was encamped at Valley Forge in the winter of 1777-1778. He also fought at the battles of Mo nmouth, where he was wounded. During his 2nd term of enlistment, he raised his own company of 100 men, and became a Captain. He served under General Daniel Morgan & Colonel Heath, in the 3rd Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line. He move d to Kentucky in 1780. Benjamin received a war pension in 1832 (pension # S429 Va.); Historical Records of Old Crab Orchard, Lincoln County, Ky.; pg. 103.
