    • NOTE: In 1930, Sarah was living in the household of her daughter, Mary, son-in-law Mason Meservey and granddaughter, Gertrude Meservey.

      Sarah Caroline Harmison met her future husband, William Small when he became a boarder at the Harmison home upon his arrival in Eau Claire from Granville, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.

      According to city directories and census reports, Sarah was a teacher prior to her marriage to William.

      Both the Harmisons and the Smalls were farmers. Isaac, wife Emma, their daughter Sarah, and William Small moved to Cedar Lake, Barron County, Wisconsin in 1876. Isaac and William had adjoining farmsteads and the four of them farmed together i n Cedar Lake for many years.
