      LEE CH ILES
      Lee Chiles, 69, Liberal, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at the Southwest
      Me dical Center, following an extended illness.
      He was born Oct. 12, 1930, to Rol and and Gracie Chiles in Waxahachie,
      Texas.
      He came to Liberal in the 1940s and worked for Gravey Enterprises
      Petroleum Inc. for 19 years. Later, he was an oilfield consultant and
      oilfield pumper for Lowery Exploration. He retired because of ill health.
      He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in
      England with the 301st Air Bombardment Wing which was attach ed to the
      92nd. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1947 and the Veter ans of
      Foreign Wars Lane Day Post No. 3166, Liberal.
      He married Juanita Full er on April 3, 1981, in Perryton, Texas. She
      survives.
      Other survivors inclu de one son, David L. Chiles, Dodge City; four
      daughters, Mary Ellen Helfrich, Spearville, Sharon Diefort, Dodge City,
      Linda Lynn Connely, Dodge City, and Patricia Ann Maas, Greensburg; one
      step-daughter, Deborah E. Kidder, St. Loui s, Mo.; one brother, Roland H.
      Chiles, Jr., Waxahachie; one sister, Verna Mae Bryson, Waxahachie; 12
      grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
      He was p receded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one
      step-daughter.
      * No m emorial services are planned and inurnment will be at Liberal
      Cemetery at a l ater date. Miller Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
