Veronica married Wilhelmus Knepper on 17 Jan 1723 in Friesland, Surhuisterveen, Netherlands. Wilhelmus (son of Hans Peter Knepper and Anna Maria Fischer) was born on 27 Oct 1691 in Unnersberg, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany; was christened in Solingen Reformed Church; died between 1766 and 1767 in Ephrata Cloister, Lancaster County PA. Notes:

In 1762 Abraham, brother Peter, and brother-in-law John Horn were members of the Brethren Church at Big Conewago, York Co., PA. He bought 100 acres in Cumberland Co. in 1765 with his parents. He preached in Westmoreland Co. in 1770. He served in the Revolution against his beliefs under Captain Samuel Rogers, 8th Battalion, Cumberland Militia in 1779 and 1780. In 1782 he was taxed for 400 acres. His will was dated 21 May 1811.

Abraham built a two story home which is still standing today. It is along the road between Mont Alto and Quincy and is known as Knepper's Station. His will was written 21 May 1811 and was put on record 1 Mar 1824 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. He left all his property to Catherine. Upon her death the home was to go to Samuel who was to pay shares to the remaining children. The home remained in the Knepper family for many generations.

Abraham married Maria Catherine WERTZ "Catherine" in 1758 in Franklin Co., Pennsylvania. Catherine was born on 26 Aug 1738 in Coventry, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. She was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Quincy Twp., Franklin Co., Pennsylvania.

She is the daughter of Hans Jacob & Anna Barbara (Huff) Wertz.

Catherine's land. She donated 1/2 acre on which to build Mt. Zzion Church and cemetery. The church was
built about 1840 and was sometimes called Knepper's Meeting House and also Union Church. A great number

Knepper: "William Knepper...was born Aug 18, 1851, in Sparta Twp.,
Noble County IN, and is the son of Anthony and Catherine (Sullenberger)
Knepper, both natives of Franklin County PA. This worthy couple were
united in marriage in their native state, came to Washington twp.,
Noble County IN in 1848, and soon afterward moved onto the farm in Sparta
twp., where Anthony Knepper passes away July 22, 1899, while she had
passed away about six years previously. To the union of this worthy
couple were born five children: Phares, deceased; Sarah C., who became
the wife of William Stocker; Susan; Margaret, married to Charles M.
Prentiss; and William, subject of this sketch."
Obituary Notice of Sarah Catherine (Knepper) Stocker states that the
family moved from PA to Indiana when she was two years of age--born
Jan 29, 1847.

Obituary Notice--Sarah Catherine (Knepper) Stocker "Sarah
Catherine Stocker, nee Knepper, daughter of Anthony and Catherine
Knepper, was born Jan. 29, 1847, and died June 4, 1923. At the age of
2 years the family moved from Pennsylvania to Indiana, and settled in
the vicinity surrounding the place of her demise." "On Nov. 19,
1866, she was united in holy wedlock with Wm. S. Stocker. Eight
children were born to them, five of whom survive: George, of Spokane,
Washington; Edward and Samuel near the old homestead; Rosa Koher and
Myrtle Earll, also residing in the nearby vicinity, also and brother
and a sister, besides eighteen grandchildren, and four
great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends." "On July
24, 1922, her companion left her for that long journey home. About 26
years ago she with her husband joined the Oak Grove United Brethren
church, at which place she was a faithful and estimable member until
she joined the Band Triumphant. She will be greatly missed in the
home and church. Funeral services was conducted from the home of her
son, Edward Stocker to the Oak Grove church and cemetary in charge of
Rev. M. Herner, assissted by her pastor, Rev. Masters. Peace to her
ashes."

ten months and eight days. He was married to Rose B. Dorsey March 18, 1893. To this union were born two daughters
who survive with the wife. The funeral was held at Oak Grove chapel with burial in the cemetery nearby.

The following is taken from a newspaper clipping from the Warsaw
newspaper: "It is our painful duty to chronicle the death by
accidental shooding of one of our citizens near here Saturday. Sam
Stocker accidently shot his young brother Forrest, death resulting in
a few minutes. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stocker, who live on
the northeast farm of the township, had gone to Ligonier and the
brothers took down the gun and went out to hunt rabbits and had killed
two when another was scared up, which the elder boy was prepared to
shoot, when it got away, and in putting down the trigger the gun was
discharged, the contents entering the body of the younger brother in
the region of the heart. He said: "Sam, you have shot me," and
expired instantly. Sam is seventeen and the deceased eleven years of
age. The bereaved ones are deserving of all sympathy, and especially
the one who innocently did the deed."

Sam Stocker accidently shot his younger brother, Forrest, death resulting in a few minutes. Mr. and Mrs. William
Stocker, who live on the NE far of the township, had gone to Ligonier and the brothers took the gun to hunt rabbits.
They had secured two, when another was scared up, which the elder boy was prepared to shoot when it got away.
In putting down the trigger, the gun was discharged entering the young brother in the heart. Sam is 17 years old,
and the deceased was 11.
