1. | Samuel Harmison was born on 6 Apr 1812 in Darke County, Ohio (son of Samuel Harmison, Sr. and Nancy Arnold); died on 6 Mar 1862 in Pleasant Township, Laporte, Indiana; was buried in North Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, Indiana. Notes: According to son, George R. Harmison's biography: "Samuel Harmison was a native of Darke County, Ohio, born April 6, 1812. He was a gentleman of sterling character, and figured among the first settlers of northwest Indiana in that early period ....located as a settler in Pleasant Township on Section 16, which part of Pleasant township is now Johnson township. The land which he purchased was school land, and farming and stock-raising was his voction throughout life." Samuel married Elizabeth Connell on 14 Nov 1842 in White, Indiana. Elizabeth was born on 27 Nov 1822 in Fayette County, Ohio; died before 28 Feb 1908 in Walkerton, Indiana; was buried in North Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, Indiana. 2. | Samuel Harmison, Sr. was born about 1776 in Berkley, Virginia (son of James Harmison and Mary); died on 2 Mar 1841 in White County, Indiana; was buried in Prob. Bedford Cemetery, White, Indiana. Notes: The property owned by Samuel at the time of his death was located along McKillup Creek, White County, Indiana and was sold to a William Sill by Samuel's son, John, executor of his estate, following Samuel's death.
