    William Rishel served in the Revolutionary War along with his 5
    other brothers. "Genealogical and Biographical Annals of
    Northumberland County Pa." 1911, p. 377. "STRIEBY, Genealogy and
    History, 1726-1967" by Byard Strieby, B. Beatrice Strieby, and Irene
    M. Strieby (Macdonald Letter Service County, Des Moines, IA 1967), p. 99.
    "... the name appears as Richel. It may have been Richel, Reichell,
    Raechel, Rickel, or more likely Rishel since families of this name
    were living inNorthampton County, the county where John's father died in
    1790. Rishels were also numerous in York County, Pa. wher is is possible
    that John Strieby spent some time before joining Peter Himes on the
    trek westward."
