    Notes:

    According to Eva Harmison, Matthew had 7 children, four sons and three daughters, then disappeared and the children became orphans.

    Matthew married Fannie Whitlock before 1818. Fannie was born in 1789 in Virginia; died about 1827. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    2. Henry Harmison was born on 18 Aug 1812 in Pike County, Ohio; died on 9 Feb 1852 in Edgar County, Illinois.
    3. James Abraham Harmison was born on 8 May 1818 in Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio; died on 12 Jan 1894 in Great Bend, Barton, KS.

  1. 2.  Matthew Harmison, Sr. was born about 1757 (son of Thomas Harmison, Sr. and Mary); died on 6 Feb 1832 in Washington, Belmont County, Ohio; was buried in Armstrong Mills Cemetery.

    Notes:

    This is probably the Matthew Harmison who is buried at Armstrong Mills Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.

  1. 4.  Thomas Harmison, Sr. was born about 1725 in Probably Virginia; died after 13 Jan 1790 in Sleepy Creek, Frederick County, Virginia.

    Notes:

    In Frederick County Land Grants, Book 2, Thomas Lord Fairfax, Baron of Cameron, to Thomas Harmison of Frederick County, Virginia, on October 10, 1766, 247 acre tract of land on the headspring of Ambrose's Run below Sleepy Creek near Potomac Rive r (in present Morgan County, WVA).

    Rent rolls for Berkeley County, Virginia, 1774-1781 show Thomas Harmison with 247 acres (From Reconstructed Census, Berkeley County, Va. 1774-1810 by Grove).

    In Berkeley County Unrecorded Deeds, Book 1, page 411, deed dated November 22, 1790, Thomas Harmison, farmer, of Berkeley County, to his children: William Harmison, to receive all lands and possessions except 30 pounds; Nancy Randels, to receiv e 5 pounds; Jean Weathers, to receive 5 pounds; and Martha Harmison to receive 20 pounds. Proved October 15, 1793.

    Tax list for Berkeley County in 1787 lists white males over 21 years; James Harmison, Thomas Harmison, Adam Harmison (Thomas was charged the tax for Adam), Mathew Harmison (who also had one male 16-21 years in his household).

    1792, name disappeared from tax record but he was found 1794 on receipt from William, deed record 1794.
