From gravestone, actual date of birth is calculated as 5 May 1775. Several accounts, including one from the Howard Tidd book "A History of the Tidds of Ohio" indicate that her spouse James Hill was born in MD. However, his census records from 18 50, which he presumably reported, state his birthplace a PA. In the 1790 census James Hill and Martin Tidd (Sarah's father) are found in Northumberland County, PA just a few pages apart. "Annals of Buffalo Valley Pa" also mentions James Hill, sh oemaker, as living in the same area. It is likely that Sarah was the second wife of James Hill - his first is listed as Mary Jordan who died leaving James with children.
The following excerpt was forwarded to me by another Find a Grave member:
BOOK---Tidds of Ohio by Howard H Tidd; pg 106 shows Sarah Tidd, born 1774 in Pennsylvania, married James Hill of Maryland in 1797, just before moving to the new settlement in Youngstown in 1798 with her family group. James Hill was a shoemaker b y trade. Sarah, better known as Sally, with her husband moved to Kinsman OH in 1802. In 1810 the Hills with their children moved to western Ohio into the Mad River region of what became Logan Cnty. James Hill served with the armed forces of th e U.S. during the War of 1812. While her husband was in the war, Sally was forced to seek refuge in a nearby blockhouse in fear of the savage Indians of that area. In 1825 the Hill family moved into Roundhead Twp, Hardin Cnty & became farmers; t hey remained there the rest of their lives. James Hill's father had died as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. James Hill helped organize the Methodist "Bowdle Church" & until a building could be erected, services were held in his home. Sally H Ill died in 1851 at the age of 77; James died in 1862 at the age of 99. To them were born 8 children: Martin, James, Nancy, John, Samuel, Sarah, Rosanna & Mary.
