  Moved with his parents from Montgomery, Ohio to LaPorte, Indiana, 1830. Helped build the stockade in Door Village, LaPorte, Indiana during the Blackhawk War scare in 1832. Purchased land adjacent to brother, John Harmison, where they farmed together in Galena, St. Joseph, Indiana. Sold the land to his father, Samuel Harmison, Sr. shortly before his marriage to Eunice "Emma" Barrett. Moved from LaPorte, Indiana to Jefferson County, Wisconsin in 1838. Moved from Dodge County, Wisconsin to Eau Claire County, Wisconsin in 1856. Farmsteaded with wife, daughter, Sarah and son-in-law, William Small in Cedar Lake, Barron County, Wisconsin, from 1876 to mid-1890's. Moved with wife, daughter and son-in-law, William Small, from Cedar Lake to Wheaton Township, Chippewa County, Wisconsin, where he resided until his death.
