Isaac and John Harmison were the sons of Samuel Harmison and Nancy Arn old. Isaac Wesley Harmison was the son of Isaac and John's brother, Samuel Harmison, Jr.

Mahala and her brother, Isaac Thomas Snethen, ch. Abraham Snethen and Mary Thomas, were raised by their step-father, Jacob Snell and his third wife, Rebecca (Burke) Smith following Mary's death. Rebecca (Burke) Smith was widow to Henry Smith, s on of Catharine Harmison and Samuel Smith.
